Edna was born in Fort Frances, Ontario on March 30, 1936 to Emil and Clara Amorde. Edna grew up in Fort Frances for short while, moving to Marathon for school.

She met the man that would be the love of her life in a diner in 1952 while she was working. On October 8, 1955 Edna married that man, the love of her life Ralph Benjamin. Together they travelled many places in Northwestern Ontario for Ralph’s work before they settled in Dryden, Ontario where they lived of 40 years. In 2001, they made their way back to their roots of Fort Frances, Ontario. Edna was always known to have a meal on or baking ready, you always knew that you would never leave her home unfed. Ralph and Edna’s home was always open to friends and family. She loved having company. She enjoyed many hours of crafting with anyone that wanted to learn new crafts.

Edna is survived by her husband Ralph, their children Bradley (Sheila), Garth (Lona), Kent (Becky), and her daughter Clara( Mark); her grandchildren Tarra (Jerry), Jenna (Matt), Shawna (Moe), Stacey, Dylan, Serenity, Cody, and Chad; and great grandchildren Tyrone, Mattie and Baby Peterson; her sister Renee Jamen; sister in law Nettie Amorde, numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Edna was predeceased by her parents Emil and Clara, sons Ronald and Darryl; her siblings William (Blue) Amorde, Willa (Hughie) Kerr, Marvel (Mike) Engler, and Bertha (Dale) Holm.
