Entered into rest February 7th, 2019 at La Verendrye Hospital with family by his side after a short battle with heart disease, J.P.’s passing has been a sudden one. Born January 14th, 1959 in St. John, New Brunswick predeceased by his adoptive family, his brother Gill Daigle, his Father Gerard Daigle and his mother Aline Daigle. Also predeceased are his sisters in law Cecilia Whitefield (Darryl), Margaret Big George and Denise Bluebird. Jean Pierre is survived by his wife Josephine, his Daughter Roseanna, his son James (Trish), grandchildren Aryanna, Erik, Phynix and Kira, his foster sons Davon and Byron and his best friend/brother Vincent (Connie), also survived by his sister in law May, his nieces and nephews, cousins and friends of whom he had made an impact on throughout his life. Overcoming alcoholism and being a member of A.A. for 30 years J.P. and his wife had built an alcohol free life and successfully raised and provided for his family. A truck driver by trade, J.P. loved to travel and drive cross country as driving was one of his favorite activities. Art and creativity has always been a big part of his life, painting and creating artwork was a passion that he never denied. From the day I first met JP, through Josie, he treated me as a sister. I so delighted in his bemused and realistic appraisal of life, which manifested in droll stories and dry, pithy wisdom. Sometimes he would veer into French, the better to turn a phrase and elicit shared rueful chuckles. Despite his retiring demeanour, his oeil d'aigle (eagle eye) missed little and he was a powerhouse of support and common sense behind the scenes. JP paid close attention to the teachings that were around him over many years and honoured them through his humility, compassion, encouragement, and sobriety. His willingness to drive often and long distances supported many people in their spiritual and physical health. He was a gift to us all.. and indirectly to many who never knew him. Journey well mon ami, mon frere. Thank you for all the fires. Merci et a plus tard...

My heartfelt sympathy to the family. In my younger days, I got to know Jean-Pierre quite well as he was my boyfriend's (Gilles) little brother who would tag along. So sad that he died so young. May the good memories give you comfort in this time of sorrow.
